Mixing

Mixing is the process of combining several different source materials in conjunction with energy input. The multitude of the substances to be mixed is hard to estimate due to varied states of aggregation, composition, chemical and physical characteristics. Substance parameters such as density or powder density and viscosity, carry great significance during the mixing process. These parameters determine the energy requirements, the possible miscibility, the dispersing degree, and the mixture’s stability.

Magnetic Stirrers

There is a complete range of IKA magnetic stirrers to handle various quantities, either with or without heating capabilities.

Overhead Stirrers

IKA offers the ideal overhead stirrer for your stirring and mixing tasks in the lab – for lower to high viscosities. IKA overhead stirrers effortlessly process stirring quantities of up to 200 liters.

Shakers

IKA offers the perfect lab shaker for mixing and shaking tasks. IKA products boast speeds of up to 3,000 revolutions per minute during continuous operations.

Thermoshakers

The MATRIX thermoshakers combine up to three functions in one device. They mix, mix and heat, heat and cool or mix, heat and cool reliably the smallest sample quantities in.

Reactor systems

IKA lab reactors are the ultimate systems when it comes to optimizing and reproducing chemical reaction, mixing, dispersing, and homogenization processes on a lab scale. The lab reactors can be individually customized to perform numerous tasks, including: production of crèmes and lotions, and the grinding and disintegrating of solids and fibers in liquids or polymers.

Synthesis Reactors

EasySyn is the reactor system for organic or aqueous syntheses. It ensures safe and reproducible chemical reactions on the way from laboratory to pilot scale.

High Viscosity Reactors

Modularly configured laboratory reactor for the optimization and reproduction of various chemical reactions, mixing and homogenization processes on a lab scale.

Photo Bioreactors

By using the IKA photo bioreactors, the cultivation of phototrophic microorganisms such as microalgae or cyanobacteria are, under carefully controlled conditions in a closed system, easily possible.

Crushing

The grinding of solid samples is essential to ensure precise analysis. It is important that the grinding leads to the homogeneity and desired fineness of the sample.

Dispersing is the mixing of at least two substances that: don’t dissolve in each other, hardly dissolve in each other, or don’t chemically react with each other. During a dispersing process one substance (dispersing phase) is distributed throughout another substance (continuous phase).

Mills

IKA introduces the world‘s first disposable grinding system for safe, instant and precise milling results. Its unique and compact design makes the unit space saving and ultra-portable.

Dispersers

Common disperser uses include: homogenization of effluent samples, dispersing tasks under vacuum pressure, and PCR analysis. IKA dispersers know no limits when it comes to professional particle reduction.

Separation

Distillation is one of the most critical functions in the laboratory. Irrespective of whether an experiment is conducted for academic, pharma, chemical, or other industries, distillation is central to most applications. For a successful distillation, the laboratory requires an effective rotary evaporator with modular design and highest precision at best.

Rotary Evaporators

The IKA range of RV 3, RV 8, RV 10 digital, RV 10 auto and RV 10 auto pro rotary evaporators offers excellent distilling solutions to the demanding user.

Centrifuges

IKA centrifuges feature a compact design and a small footprint which requires minimal bench space. A transparent cover allows for constant observation of the centrifuge and it can be used with both microcentrifuge and PCR strip tubes.

Electrochemistry

Electrochemistry deals with both chemical transformations that generate electricity, and chemical transformations that are induced by electricity. In the span of two hundred years, it evolved from a few obscure and eccentric laboratory phenomena into a highly sophisticated and comprehensive scientific discipline, with applications that permeate all corners of society. Today, batteries of all sizes—from the delicate hand watch to the powerful Tesla automobile—stem from electrochemistry.

Electrochemistry Kit

ElectraSyn 2.0 combines three products in one and will facilitate the mass adoption of electrochemistry for preparative organic synthesis: a potentiostat, an analytical device and a stir plate.

Screening System

The IKA Screening System is perfectly suited for constant current electrosynthesis in “multibatch” mode. The usage of the single-cell screening system allows you to customize each reaction cell. The operator is able to individually pre-set an applied voltage of 0 – 32 V or 0 – 10 A current by using two voltage sources, each providing four outputs.

Measuring viscosity

Rheology – the study of the flow of matter – is a scientific field that encompasses the flow behavior as well as the flow properties of flowable substances. Rheology is of great importance wherever substances are manufactured or processed as these partly combine the elastic properties of solids and the viscous properties of liquids.

Measuring stirrers

Measure viscosity and display it, even during product development. The result can be read in real-time on the display. This is particularly helpful during product development: STARVISC already clearly indicates while running research programmes as to whether the stirred substance can be used as desired.

Viscometers

The ROTAVISC viscometer series determines the viscosity of liquids in all areas of application ranging from the laboratory to quality control.

Calorimeters

Calorimetry is the measuring of heat quantities that are linked to biological, chemical or physical processes both exothermic as well as endothermic. IKA offers combustion calorimeters which are distinguishable by their operating modes: adiabatic, isoperibol, or “double-dry”.
